Apple Keyboard: Water spilled on keyboard and now rows of random keys arent working

A few days ago i accidentally spilled water on my on my keyboard. It did not appear to be alot of water at the time but now it seems like it has been soaked as about an hour or two later keys stopped responding.and i noticed water dripping off my keyboard when i lifted it. i tried to dry it off but it has not improved after about a day and 3 quarters. it appeared to have shorted out certain keys and some around it as columns of keys. it it possible it will fix its self by drying out? or if you think its possible that it can be fixed at all (by an apple genius or me )

Thanks : )

Apple Wireless Keyboard: Batteries corroded & stuck inside Apple Wireless Keyboard (Aluminum)

The Apple Wireless Keyboard (Aluminum) uses three AA batteries. One of the AA batteries in my keyboard is stuck inside due to corrosion. I've managed to strip down most of the keyboard, but I'm stuck with the final C-clip that is deep inside and I haven't got any tool to undo the C-clip. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, I’ve got one of these keyboard - I’m a fan of it in general. It’s pretty high mileage, and they don’t make em anymore. Nothing is obviously physically damaged; my “U” key and a handful of keys on the number pad are just dead. Anyone have any thoughts on fix? is there such a thing as a diagnostic app for Apple keyboards? Thanks!

Apple Keyboard: Some keys stopped working on Apple Wired Keyboard

Hey guys!

Can anyone help?

I have an Apple Wired USB Keyboard since 2013 and yesterday some keys stopped to work.

I didnt pay much attention, thought it was a momentary USB glitch, replugged it, and it seemed to help.

But today the trouble returned.

Keys "8", "I", "K", and "," are not working. As you can notice, they're all in a straight line. So it feels like some contact line is dead/malfunctioning.

No, I didnt spill any liquid. Its perfectly dry.

Googled it. Many users report the same problem here and there, but not the real remedy.

Apple's answers are as useless as they should be, deemed to housewives, a la "Check if your house has electricity". :)

If you can give a tech-savvy advice, please do.

PS: If you're going to say "Go buy a new one" - thank you in advance. :)

Magic Keyboard: Certain keystrokes producing multiple characters

My keyboard has started malfunctioning where every time I press certain keys, I get two characters instead of the single character it ought to be. Here are the character sets being affected

56

-/

ty

=[

gh

bn

For example, when I press '5', it produces '56', and the same when I press '6'. It too produces '56'. Same for the whole list above.

Note too the apparent pattern down the keyboard with the '56', 'ty', 'gh', and 'bn' combos.

I've checked battery level. It's nearly full charge. I've tried using while plugged in and charging. I've tried gently lifting affected keys and blowing out any possible dust, particles, etc. None of this has helped.

Apple Wireless Keyboard: The battery cap is corroded on. How can it be removed?

I picked up the apple wireless keyboard from a friend who wasn't using it. I went to put batteries in it and found out that it was stuck.

Then I:

Tried a basic flathead

Tapped around the head with a small hammer to see if it would unseal

Attempted a vice and nickel method--I now have a torqued nickel.

So far no direct access method has worked.

I also read the Batteries Corroded & stuck thread n here.. That allowed me to know there was a panel on the back. My KB is a little different, the panel is more in the middle. I opened it up and see there is a battery--so I'm nearly sure it's a corroded battery that has leaked onto the aluminum screw and caused all of this.

Anyone have ideas on how to solve this?
