Added oil additive to stop smoke but it still smokes with fresh gas and fresh oil.Fuel and oil filter changed last summer.

Craftsman Riding Mower: My unit will falter after running 15 minutes

I have a craftsman yard tractor, model #917.273351 with a briggs & stratton engine, model #31C7070230e1. After running for 15 minutes while mowing, it acts like starving for fuel & attempts to shut down. I will then disengage blades & drop throttle to idle & it will stay running, but throttle up & same thing occurs. I have changed air filters, spark plug & fuel filter. Today I sprayed carburetor cleaner into carburetor to clean, but still same results.

Riding Mower: Why won't my mower start?

My 14.5 horse MTD lawn tractor puffs gas vapor out of the carburetor when I crank it over in attempt to start it up. It is getting compression and obviously air/fuel mixture which just leaves spark. If I choke it while cranking it, I will occasionally get a pop and nothing else. the spark plug was wet with gas as if it was flooded. Why won't it start? Is the carburetor in need of an overhaul?

Craftsman Riding Mower: Model 917 Differential Problem

Tractor, YTS4000, 24hp 6 speed manual-- has difficulty turning. To me it seems the differential is locked as the front wheels continue to want to plow forward while turning. (This is not a "steering" problem as the front wheels turn fine) What I see: This winter when using the snow blower as I attempted to turn right, the right rear wheel was spinning!

Craftsman Riding Mower: Craftsman 30" riding mower RER1000 slipping out of gear to lower gear

Hello All,

My Craftsman 30" riding mower RER1000 slipping out of gear to lower gear.

The park brake also does not always hold stopped. Sometimes it does and sometimes the mower moves forward slow, like Park is now 1st gear.

I took off the deck. I then took off the transmission between the rear wheels. I opened the transmission up and didn't see anything out of the ordinary inside.

Would this be due to a worn break assembly on the transmission.

I can't figure out what is causing this issue.

Husqvarna: Mower starts up fine, but will not engage in forward or reverse...?

The engine starts up fine, when I go to press the gas pedal forward or backward it won’t move either direction.

Does it have to have time to warm up first before it moves?

I also have the blade deck off the tractor to restore it.

Today the pedal control popped off the rear transaxle I looked for schematics and couldn’t find the right part for the clip that holds it together. Can anyone help me out it’s model number 917.20391.9. I attached photos of where the rod connects. One with the rod and one without. Thank you!

It’s part 163 in the ground drive schematic that popped off…but I don’t see the clip listed anywhere. https://www.searspartsdirect.com/model/1...

Craftsman Riding Mower: Why does my lawn mower stop driving while mowing?

I have a craftsman lt2500. I start mowing the lawn does fine . Then all of a sudden it slows down to a stop. I have to disengage the blade what a few minutes then put it in reverse then foreward multiple times before it will go . I then re engage the blade and it goes a few feet before doing the same thing .

I'm writing this for my 89 year old Dad.He is trying to change the lower drive belt on an r1500 model # 247.299000. The belt broke and was slung off, so he never saw it in place.

He has it taken apart mostly, but can't figur out how it goes on. He needs a diagram of all the belts so he can make some sense of all the mess.

Craftsman Riding Mower: Why does drive belt keep slipping off transaxle pulley

I have a craftsman 917.289272 made by husqvarna. I first replaced the drive belt but it happened with the new one. Both times it happened when I had a trailer hooked up and had the parking brake on so I could dismount from the mower while it was still running. When I released the parking brake the belt jumps off and lodges underneath the pulley.

Craftsman Riding Mower: Starter turns the engine until it hits the compression cycle

Craftsman 25587 42" 19 HP Briggs & Stratton Fender Hydro Automatic Riding Mower. Starter turns the engine until it hits the compression cycle (barely one turn of the engine). At that point the engine fails to turn any more. But sometimes just a little turn of the engine is enough to start it up. That happens once in several tries. If it starts the engine runs fine. Sometimes the engine will backfire during start up. Could this be a “valve lash” issue?

Riding Mower: Drive problem ride on mower

Anybody able to help? I've got a John Deere ride on mower (x155r) recently put it up on axle stands to have inner tubes fitted in tyres, after a couple of weeks fitted said wheels lowered it to deck, started engine, great, no drive to wheels. If I engage or disengage parking brake still no drive. Have tried neutral override push bar, no difference. Am able to move manually but does not engage drive. Does anyone know if it's something a moronic mechanic can tackle or does it mean I've got to donate a couple of hundred euros to the local workshop coffee fund.

Craftsman zero turn mower: Blows 30 amp fuse while trying to crank engine

I have a craftsman zero turn mower model number 247204111 that blows 30 amp fuse while trying to crank engine. I’ve traced entire wire harness and found no frail wires other than connector to electric clutch. Repaired connector and still doesn’t crank. I’ve also replaced battery, new ignition switch, and starter solenoid. Could electric clutch be bad and blow fuse? Need help thanks

Riding Mower: Mower runs only on choke then dies suddenly

i currently have a countax c600h with a honda gcv520/gcv530/gxv530 16hp engine. The carburettor has recently been rebuilt and all the fuel lines been changed, the fuel pump has been checked and works fine. However i can now only start the engine with the choke and keep it running with the choke, when i release it the engine dies. why would this happen? Is it not getting enough of something?
