PSP E1000: Psp e1004 (Street) backlight not working.

Hi, I have a PSP e1004 (Street model). I'm having a problem with the backlight. The display works fine with a flashlight, but the backlight isn't working properly. I replaced the backlight circuit fuse, but the problem remains the same: the backlight isn't working. What could be the cause?

I checked the soldered fuse with a multimeter, and it was soldered correctly.

PSP E1000: Power slider pads sheared off

Years ago i tried to change the ON/HOLD slider on my psp E1000 and two of the 4 contact pads where sheared of the motherboard. Is there a way to fix it or bypass the slider to turn the device on and off?

Hi everyone, I need help troubleshooting my PSP-1000.

I was originally on official 6.61 stock firmware with no custom firmware installed. I then installed ARK-5 using this guide:

After installing ARK-5, I made it permanent using the cIPL Flasher option.

On 11/06/2026, I copied GTA: Liberty City Stories to the PSP’s Memory Stick and started playing. It seemed to work fine at first.

Today, 12/06/2026, I played Liberty City Stories again and completed around two missions. Suddenly, the game froze, the screen showed graphical artifacts/glitches, and then the PSP shut itself off.

Now when I try to power it on, the green power LED only flashes once for a few milliseconds and then immediately turns off. The screen stays black and it does not boot.

Current symptoms:

Model: PSP-1000
Firmware before CFW: 6.61 official firmware
CFW installed: ARK-5
Permanent install method: cIPL Flasher
Game being played when it failed: GTA: Liberty City Stories
Screen froze with graphical artifacts before shutdown
Now the green power LED flashes once briefly, then turns off
No Sony logo
No XMB
No sound
No recovery menu that I can access
Plugging it into a computer does not register
Screen stays black

Troubleshooting I have already tried:

Tried powering on normally with the battery installed
Tried powering on while connected to the official Sony charger
Charger gives an orange light with the battery installed, so the PSP is receiving power/charging
Tried removing the battery and powering it with only the official Sony charger
Same result with charger only: single green flicker, black screen, then off
Tried removing the battery and pressing/holding buttons before putting the battery back in
Tried connecting it to a computer, but it does not register
Tried removing the Memory Stick before powering on
Tried booting while holding R for recovery menu, but nothing appears

Because it will not boot into XMB, recovery menu, or USB mode, I do not know how I would “wipe” it. From what I understand, I can only format the Memory Stick externally on a PC, but I cannot wipe or reinstall the PSP’s internal flash unless it can boot into recovery or be recovered using something like a Pandora Battery / Magic Memory Stick.

Does this sound more like:

a cIPL/flash brick from the permanent ARK-5 install,
a corrupted Memory Stick issue,
a bad power switch/power board,
a motherboard/GPU failure,
or another hardware fault?

The graphical artifacts before it shut off make me wonder if this is hardware-related, but the timing after installing permanent CFW also makes me worried it could be a brick.

What should I test next? Would a Pandora Battery and Magic Memory Stick be the correct recovery method for a PSP-1000 in this state, or should I be looking at power board/motherboard faults first?

Any help would be appreciated.

PlayStation Vita: Game card slot broken

Hello everyone, so I inserted my sd2vita card into the game card slot and it got stuck. When i tried to pull it out like an idiot i ripped and bent the pins inside. Is there any way for replacement? Or any alternative? I dont need the game slot i just need to use the sd card.

Note: i have a wifi only version so no dice with that.

PSP 3000: I cant see my files and games insatlled in my PSP

I am having PSP 3000, I charaged it through my laptop via Data Cable. After charging There were no games and data in my memory card, it displays that there is no data in the stick.

Whereas, if i plugin my PSP into my laptop, through the data cable, i can see all games in folder, and pictures which i have captured. means the data is there in UMD card, 1.8 GB is in used outof 8 GB. Data can be seen and its opening in Laptop only, But if i open games folder in PSP, then it says, The folder is empty... Please suggest what to do... I guess software is curropted, there is some virues in it.. can anybody please tell from where to download its software for free.. and how to install it...

PSP 300x: PSP not charging but working fine with a charged baterry inside.

My childhood PSP broke :(. The problem is that it does not charge and only works if i put in a charged battery in. I tried using both charging ports to no succsess. I opened it up and checked the continuity of the main power fuse marked TB with a multimeter, it was blown. So i shorted it and the console still would not charge. After that i tried putting in a charged battery and it worked so shorting the fuse did not cause any damage.i tried checking other fuses for continuity based on https://www.komstation.com/guides/psp-fu... but i found some of the fuses were poorly marked, every fuse that i found and checked worked. I do not know what the problem could be.

Someone please help. Thank you if you will take a look into my problem.

PSP 2000: Psp works with 1 game wont try to read others

I got a psp 2000 and it reads resistance retribution. But doesn't seem to even try to read other games. I tried metal gear acid 1 and 2, and its like it doesn't register the games are there. Im assuming the laser reader needs to be replaced. I tried dusting it out and cleaning the laser reader still nothing (they are all UMD's and none of them have damage)

PlayStation Vita: Screen won’t turn on.

My ps vita will charge and turn on and display a blue light, but the screen is black, I have watched videos on how to reset, they all say that I should hold the power button to reset, however when I do that it simply turns the device off with blue flashing light, I have also tried all the button combinations required to “hard reset the device”, none of them seem to work, I am completely stuck as to what to do. Thanks.

PSP 1000: PSP 1004 light turning on for a couple of seconds, then turning off

Hello! I recently bought this PSP 1004 for pretty cheap, so I was obviously expecting some sort of issue to arise. Most of the posts I've seen on the internet show either a green light that appears for a split second before turning off or a green light that stays on for 20s/doesn't turn off (which from what I understand is a sign that the PSP is bricked and needs to be flashed), but in my case the green light stays on for a few seconds before turning off. It's in very good aesthetic conditions and doesn't appear to have been tinkered with in any way. In the video I'm trying to turn the PSP on without the battery since, even after using the battery from my PSP 2000, it won't turn on (though it does charge)
Other things that I've tried:
Turning it on with and without the memory stick
Using a different (original) charger
The following button combinations:
L + R + Power
Home + Power
Holding Power on for 30s/a full minute
Home + Select + Start + Square + Triangle + Power
Select + Start + Square + Triangle + Power

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated!! ❤️

PS Vita Slim: Small tab came off during reassembly

The small brown tab that clamps the ribbon cable for the back case onto the motherboard just popped off while I was putting the cable back in. Attached are pictures of the tab,

the ribbon cable on the back case,

and the pins it fits into

(the white slot) does this go back on and if so how? I have large fingers and can barely see what I’m doing. Does the cable work without it being clamped down/can I just tape the cable in the slot? The disasembly guide on here could really use an overhaul, it just says to reverse the steps, but getting things back together is much different than taking it apart. That and it skipped steps relating to the ribbon cables.

PSP 3000: Why wont my psp3001 connect to my wireless router?

I have like 17 psp games but no psp console so today I got a used one. When I went home I tried to connect it to my wireless router. When the list of routers came up after scanning for them, my router showed up in the list but said incompatible. I tried clicking on it and nothing happened. The connection speed I have is 2.4G and 5.0G but only 2.4 showed up. . All of the other routers that showed up said incompatible also .My thought is that since this version of psp playstation portable devices is almost 10 years old the wireless connector of the psp is old and not as strong as todays electronics so it cant handle the connection speed my house router has, am I right? When I lived In my old house with my psp 3001 I had before, it connected fine, but the router for my old house is just as old as the psp 3001 is. So I think that the older router put out a slower speed that the psp could handle. Am I correct? Is their any way in the settings where I can get it to connect? I need to get to the part where I put in my routers password to then proceed to connect and it wont let me. Thanks.

PSP 300x: How to remove the soldering point on the umd drive ribbon cable

I want to replace the umd drive of my psp but i cant find any good guides anywhere on how to remove the anti static soldering point

When installed the unit turns on when triggered by both internal levers being pushed down i get a red light and the sensor moves up and down but it never goes past loadibg a disc i never hear the motor start

PSP 300xc: The L Button doesnt work - the gray "Plastic" is Broken

My L Button stopped working a few years ago... as a kid i broke the plastic and put a metal foil there, so it worked for a while, then it stopped, never to work again... i want to replace the gray "plastic", it is a PSP 3001, and i do not know where to get the part.

PSP E1000: My PSP has no sign of life

Hi I have had this psp for like a year now and it was basically in near new condition. But one day when I had it on charge it was over heating and I don’t think I turn it off properly (left it on rest mode) and so I quickly disconnected it BUT now it won’t turn on. The charger works and the battery has power too (Checked both with an Electrometer) but it just doesn’t turn on. The LED doesn’t flash and neither does the screen. Is my PSP dead or what could be the issue?

Did a screen replacement on my Japanese PS Vita 1100, which more or less involves a full teardown of the console. Upon putting it all back together, I noticed I've got this bracket left over. Does anyone have any idea where it might have come from, and it's important enough to pop the console back open to put it back?

Everything works fine as far as I can tell.

Years ago my psvita was water damaged. It’s been many years it’s been sitting in the drawer. When charging and turning on it will light up green but screen does not turn on. I have opened it up and there is a bit of blue rust directly on the ribbon connectors and the battery clip thing. Can these ribbons be cleaned to be fully functional (though I do not know if this is the issue with the vita)
