I replaced the screen on an iPhone 5s and all went well until I turned it on to check it. The screen has a lot of vertical lines and will not respond to touch. See the image attached.

iPhone 6 Plus: Gets very hot, front camera/earpiece not working after new screen

I replaced my phone screen myself a few days ago, I used to work in a phone repair store so I'm fairly confident in my abilities, everything went fine but not the front facing camera shows a blur and freezes the camera app, the ear piece isn't working (speaker phone and headphones are fine) and most annoying of all the phone gets incredibly hot. I am almost certain it is not the battery, the heat isn't even coming from near the battery, though battery life has gotten noticeably worse. There are no visibly burnt parts and I have read that replacing the front facing camera flex cable might fix the issue, anyone has any experience with this problem? It is very frustrating to have fixed the phone only to run into even more problems. I am thinking of just taking it to apple and saying its overheating however I'm sure the will check the ear piece and camera and notice the screen was replaced and I figure saying I bought it offline and trying for sympathy points won't work as I'm sure there is some way to see I am the first and only owner. Any help would be VERY MUCH appreciated. Thanks in advance, sorry for the long post.

iPhone 5s: Error 27 or 9 with blue screen - can't start

Hello everybody,

I bought an very cheap iPhone 5s with the error discripton "bootloop". Now it's here and I'm not sure what's the error.

If I start the phone, the screen is black but I can see the backlight. If I hang it on the powercharger, I see the Apple logo.

So I decide to restore it with iTunes. iTunes recognizes the phone but I can't restore it. On normal restore I got error 27. iTunes say it's waiting for the phone -> on the iPhone I can see the apple and the progress bar with 0% and around 1 minute later, iTunes show the error 27.

In the dfu mode I got error 9. It's the same. iTunes want to restore the phone -> on the iPhone I see the progress bar with 0% but then I see for 2 seconds an blue screen without any text. The iPhone restart and iTunes show me error 9.

I vacillate between a defective battery or a defective screen.

Can anyone help me?

Update

Hello again, today I opened the phone and definitely it was not opened yet.

At first I removed the screws that covers the screen connectors -> error 9 (restore) and error 27 (update).

Then I disconnected the display, the camera, the gsm antenna and the other connectors near the screen but I got error 9 again. Is it at all possible to restore the phone without connected screen? I tried to find the faulty part.

I can't imagine that the phone is broken without exposure.

At next I want to change the battery.

My PC is definitely ok. I tried to restore my old iPhone 4 and it worked great.

Any other ideas?

iPhone 4: iPhone 4 camera faulty flickering SOLVED!

SOLVED, READ ANSWER FOR INFO.

Hey guys

I have got an iPhone that i have just repaired (very badly damaged digitiser/LCD) and during testing i have realised the camera function has stopped working. When i open up the camera app, the rear camera loads and works, however when i switch to the front camera, the "retina" stays closed and the "camera-video" switch on the bottom right starts to flicker.

After that happens i am totally unable to use the camera function unless I disconnect the battery completely and reset the iPhone. This isn't the first iPhone this has happened to. It is not a firmware issue as i have restored it several times, and i am also aware that due to the iPhone being damaged this could also be the cause. Just want to know if there is a fix for this issue?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Update - I have reset the iPhone for the second time and now the camera does not work full stop. fun times.

Update 2 - I have restored with custom firmware, opened up camera app, rear camera works however once i switched to the front camera it decided to **** itself again.

Update 3 - Just realised that it is still under warranty so I will get the person to take the phone to apple to get it replaced for free.

Update 4 - Just got back from the Apple store, had to wait 20 mins and a brand new iPhone was sitting in my pocket :)

Summary

For any issues with anything regarding a firmware issue the first things to do is to restore (custom and iTunes firmware). After you have done that and the issue has not been resolved you should move to part replacement (if it is regarding the camera app not functioning properly or a similar issue). If you have replaced the part up to three times and it is still not working (yes it is necessary to replace up to three times, sometimes you will replace a faulty part with another faulty part, the glories of technology) then you will have to assume the logic board has been damaged in some way.

Resolution

Take back to apple and let them deal with it :) Because the genius's at the genius bar's are so short on time they physically do not have the time to open up the iPhone and check to see if it has been tampered with. All they will do is check the liquid indicator and if it has not been set off and the fault still purists with them then you will get a replacement no questions asked.

iPhone 6: Mic issues after screen replacement

I recently had my front screen replaced on my iPhone 6 and had to have it re-replaced after the first screen had burn in issues.

Since the screen replacement, I've had issues with my front mic - Siri cannot hear me, my voice message feature does not work - audio is very low and jumbled, my speaker phone does not work (people cannot hear me), and some videos I record have jumbled audio also. Also, my camera feature when selected from within n the text app will not open - all I get is a black screen, as if the lens cover is on (for lack of a better description).

This morning, my alarm didn't play sound either. So I'm wondering if there's also a speaker issue now? When I switched the silent toggle off, it worked.

I replaced the screen the same day I upgraded to iOS 8.2. A Google search confirmed some people experiencing some similar things, but not exactly. Could this be the cause?! Or is it likely the hardware change resulted in damage to some connections?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

iPhone 5: Battery wont charge after new battery installed.

OK, my phone kept shutting off even with battery still left, sometimes 40% sometimes 20% sometimes as much as 70%, as soon as I plugged it in and it would start right back to where it was (as far as the battery %). After about a month of this I figured the battery was dying and I needed a new one so I came on here and used the guide and replaced the battery. Then when I started my phone and used the front facing camera the phone would freeze up so I ordered a new one of those. But I realized my battery never charged and it died on me, so I thought maybe I received a bad battery and ordered another, when I got it it had about 20% so I plugged it in and came back about half an hour later, and I lost about 2%, so I tried 3 different cables 2 different wall chargers I tried the laptop the pc even the car charger... nothing. I restored it, no change. So I ordered a new charging port put it in and still nothing. What could the problem be? I'm at about 7% battery and counting.
