I have changed a few parts and cleaned everything with isopropanol,

Everything is working except the Touch ID. The Home Button is working fine.

I have already changed the Flexcable against a new one, but it does not work.

What could be the problem?

I often repair iPhone's however this was my first time replacing an iPhone 6 screen.

I always check the screen works prior to fitting, which when I connected the replacement screen it didn't work.

Just to check that the phone was still turned on, I connected the old screen which didn't work.

After disconnecting it and reconnecting it, it worked. Thinking it was me with the replacement screen maybe not clipping the connectors on properly I tried it again with no prevail. After this I still can't get either the original screen or the replacement screen to work.

Can anyone give me any advice as what to do next?

I've changed whole back case, battery and lcd.. Phone worked normally for like 3 days and suddenly it wouldn't charge anymore. It would stuck on 1% on charger and if disconnected from charger, it would turn off. Anyways, it still could turn on and charge to max 1%. I've carried my phone to three top services in my city and after the first one I couldn't even turn on my phone anymore - like its dead. He said that battery is over drained and the second one said he doesn't know what the problem is, because both of them have checked U2 Chip, replaced battery, checked voltages, everything acts like normal, but problem still persists. Still, the third one said something is wrong with motherboard and they don't have time for investigation, because after placing new battery it would get over heated and discharged very fast. I'm stuck and out of possibilities. Phone is basically new without scratches now, but I can't use it.

Please if anyone want to read my problem above and help me I'd be thankful.

When I got the phone, the screen was completely shattered and wouldn't display anything, and the top right corner was just completely missing the glass. The frame was slightly bent on the bottom left side, and when I took the phone apart, I could tell that the screen had been repaired by a third party before, as the screen was not original and had the little stamps that a lot of aftermarket screen makers use to identify their product.

I disconnected the battery, then went along with the repair process the same way I always do, and made sure that I didn't mix up any of the screws or anything like that. The replacement screen I used didn't come with the small parts already installed, so I transferred them over to the new screen.

When I tried to check the camera to ensure the repair was successful, the rear camera would work, but when I switched it to the front camera the app froze on the blurred out grey screen that the iPhones show before switching cameras. I thought maybe I messed up the camera while transferring the flex cable since they are so sensitive, so I installed a brand new one, and still no luck.

I had her take the phone home, and update it to the newest firmware to see if that would help and it did not. Now instead of the grey blurred out screen like before, the phone displays an image like the camera took a picture with the back camera as soon as you switch it to the front camera.

What could possibly be causing this to happen? I made sure to clean everything with 99% isopropyl alcohol before connecting everything so there shouldn't be any oils left from my fingers or anything like that either.

I moved the original home button onto the new screen and even bought a new flex cable . The home button is working fine but there's a message which says that the iphone is unable to active touch ID?

Bought an used iPhone 6 with cracked screen. Decided to change the screen myself, since I have done multiple repairs on iPhone 4,4s,5,5s etc. Managed to replace the screen with all the small parts sucessfully.

Now after one day, I noticed a clicking noise on the screen, when pressing the top left corner. Googled it, and came over some people with same issue:

It is easy to see, that the screen is not laying 100% flush with the frame at that point.

Since I have opened my phone, my warranty is gone. Does anybody here have some tips on how to fix it? The youtube video tells me to try to bend it back alittle, which I'm not so happy doing. I think that the screen may crack if I bend it to much. Maybe disconnect the screen and then try to bend the left top corner a little back?

I have an iPhone 6 and the touchscreen will freeze randomly. Sometimes I have to wait five minutes from start up for it to respond. Sometimes it works straight away but only for a few minutes. Sometimes it'll work for twenty minutes. There is no rhyme or reason to it freezing.

Here's what I've tried,

1. Soft resets - didn't help.

2. Factory reset and set up as new device- didn't help

3. Fitting x 3 new known working screens - didn't help

4. Cleaning the connectors with iso alcohol - didnt help

5. Updating software which went fine (no error codes) - didn't help.

Probably helps to mention I've switched the motherboard out of a damaged housing to another genuine housing. I own a small repair business and can strip most parts almost blindfolded.

I can't see any physical damage to the board and if the mobo touch connector were damaged the rogue white lines would appear.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I've replaced a fair few iPhone screens but since iOS 10 it seems that even if I use the original home button I still get the error that the Touch ID Failed. When I go into the settings it does not get past the on / off part, then says failed again when I go to put a fingerprint in.

I've tried hard resets etc. I always unplug the battery when I do the repair. I have not tried flashing the software but as I have many customers come in I'm concerned if thats the case for each repair then I'd lose the repairs altogether.

Any solutions or advise? Has anyone else expierenced this?

how do i check the main board is the correct one for the phone if apple haven't included a serial number on the main board and the phone is completely dead?

Obviously the power and home button work, after measuring I also know that it’s charging. I got the phone from a friend and what I know the screen has been replaced by professional and after that the phone worked for a few months before this it just died one day.

Any idea where to start, NAND maybe?

What I have come to find is that if you are wanting to replace just the battery without removing any of the LCD/Home Button/Front Camera,etc. flex cables DO NOT just unplug the battery with the phone still ON. Unplugging the battery with the flex cables still attached (without even removing the bracket holding the flex cables down) while the phone is ON, then reconnecting a new battery will cause the screen to flicker most of the time, even if its an OEM screen… Id say its about a 80% rate the screen will flicker if using this technique by not powering down the device with the power button and sliding power off.

If you want to replace the battery without removing the flex cables, POWER DOWN the device by holding the power button and sliding power off. Wait around 10 seconds (or the amount of time it takes you to unscrew the bottom screws & battery screws). 100% of the time I use this technique I have had 0 screens flicker.

I have tested both techniques with over 50+ phones over the past 2 days. All using the same replacement battery from the same vendor.

It does not matter if the screen is OEM or aftermarket. You will get a flicker MOST likely if you use the first technique I explained. Some iPhones did have an exception where the screen did not flicker when I disconnected the battery with the phone still ON.

I do not know the ins & outs as to why this is the case but I have found of this will cause your screen to flicker in the 6 & 6s.

I have not tried any other models yet as I am only refurbing i6 or i6s batteries currently.

Just thought Id throw this information out there to save the anxiety for people if this ever happens to them.

From what Ive read the flickering should go away after hours of leaving the devices on but I am unable to test that part since I pass the phones on once refurbished.

So if you want to avoid your screens flickering. POWER THE DEVICE OFF USING THE POWER BUTTON & SLIDE POWER OFF & Be patient.

My iPhone 6 was in a pool for about 2-5 minutes, I cant fully remember. I did try to turn it on about 1 million times (I know it wasn't good idea I was just freaking out).

About 15 hours later I took the screen off fully and put that and the rest under rice and silica packets (I know its more of a placebo than actually working.)

After being under rice for about 4 days I put it back together and it still doesn't turn on.

So to my question, is there anyway I can search through my phone to see what new parts I might need to buy and replace or should I just cut my losses and leave the phone.

So what have I done?

I just disconnected my old battery and LCD, after that without any phone damaging I finished my job and turned it on and I got message that touch ID is not working.

OK - I have dissasembled my phone again, reconnected all connectors and turned the phone and voila - touch ID is working.

But thats not the end, after that I wanted to check again, is there isnt any problems inside. And what do you think, after that its not working again.

So whats the problem? I didnt damaged anything (I hope so) and it have worked once after battery replacement
