My computer wont recognize my iPod when I plug it in

when i plug in my iPod to my computer it says usb not recognized and i dont know whats wrong with it.

when i plug in my iPod to my computer it says usb not recognized and it works perfectly it plays music and every thing the only problem is that my computer won't recognize it.
