I ran into this problem this week. It seems that on PC's (which I know nothing about), that faster RAM can be used, than is called for. I've run into nothing but problems doing this with a Mac. We had tested good RAM that was a higher speed than called for used in a iMac (G5) 20", and it crashed constantly. I've seen the same thing many times on different Macs. I quit fighting it and just use the RAM called for and bypass the problem. My supplier is www.ramdirect.com. They only handle Macs, I've have no failures in 15 years from them. I don't get a kickback from them or work for them. I just highly recommend them.
