For the OP: As for the "''I don't understand why this place wouldn't just replace the logic board and try it?''"... most shops will not have spare nano boards laying around. iPhones yes but not iPods. There are no schematics available for the nano and trying to do board level work is nothing more than guess work without them. Besides, just how much money are you willing to spend on this device?
