-@francisco65180 not having done a polarity check is okay since the polarity is printed on the battery and if your battery had a Red and Black wire, I am sure that they installed it right.
+@francisco65180 not having done a polarity check is okay since the polarity is printed on the battery and if your battery had a Red and Black wire, I am sure that they installed it right. If you want us to check the polarity, take a couple of good pictures of the battery and the wiring. Then post those with your Question https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Adding+images+to+an+existing+question/21499
Just because your battery showed 3V does not mean that it has enough power to turn on your headset. First you want to check your power supply. Make sure it has the proper voltages. Check to make sure that the connectors are not bend etc. Check the DC-in jack of your laptop. Make sure there is no corrosion, debris etc. that prevents it from working. Clean it of any debris etc, use a few puffs of air to clean it out. If none of this works, get an ammeter and see if your headphones draws any amperage from the charger.
Do not forget to check the switch. If you can use a multimeter and see if that works.
