No power on. Faulty mainboard suspected

I dismantled the acer 5742g to replace a damaged lcd connector. After having Reassembled everything, the power on button produces no effect. Only the AC power supply indicator is on. The cooling fan doesnt work. I tried with both AC and battery supply. I suspect a broken mainboard. Do you have any advice?
