Plastic rear Camera ring placement & adhesive?

I am halfway thru replacing a friend's iphone 4 display. He purchased a replacement display which did not include the speaker grill and camera mount ring (the little clear plastic piece). I am unsure of two things:

1) The exact place, ent of the ring on the new display. It appears to have three tabs around it and I do not know which way they should be positioned and cannot find detailed photos online.

2) what to use for adhesive to attach both the grill and ring?

Any suggestions or info here would be greatly appreciated. The tutorial on here which I have been using made mention of possibly reusing these items, but did not go into any detail on how to do that.

Thanks in advance.

Craig

Usually the earpiece mesh grill still has enough adhesive to just place it onto the new screen. If not. use some double sided adhesive at the edges to hold it (this is Apple way), or use some tape at the sides to hold it in place.

The front facing camera plastic ring mount, can just be placed around the front facing camera lens. The tabs go down into the iPhone, there is only one way it will fit down and snug, I think the flat area of the ring circle goes up and to the left (10 o'clock as you look at it). Again, there is only one way it can go, so do it that way. Most repair people just leave it loose in place. When you put the front display in, just make sure it has not fallen out of place, it shouldn't move, but it could.

Brad - thanks for the reply.

I actually figured out that I could seat the lens ring on the lens itself, so you were spot on about that one.

As for the speaker grill, there was no adhesive left at all on it after I peeled it off of the old screen. However, I was able to use the same technique on it as I did for the lens ring. I just set it on top of the speaker in the frame and then carefully placed the new display on top. Took a fews tries though as the grill kept falling out of place as I was trying to route the ribbon cables through the frame. But it finally worked!

That technique does work but in my experience it isn't always reliable, or it will take me several attempts before I can get everything lined up perfectly . When I get the camera flex cable assembled and peak at the normal side of the screen, it isn't always aligned.

I don't know if the double-sided tapes I purchased online are duds but I have never been able to use it effectively for anything other than keeping a battery down.

Does anyone out there know what Apple uses to keep those plastic brackets in place? It's like somewhere between superglue and hot-glue.....it gets rigid but not as hard as superglue, and it stays clear.
