Phone won't switch fron vibrate mode to ringer?

Okay so the phone is stuck in vibrate mode, whenever I try to switch from the vibrate mode to the ringer there is no symbol on the screen that pops up indicating the change and the phone is still stuck in vibrate mode. The phone still vibrates so it can't be the vibrating motor, is this a case of the switch not working? Thanks!
