Hi, A check of the drives listed for this unit are all 9.5 and I can find nothing on my other sources to indicate the larger drive would fit. Is the 12.5 you are thinking about a SATA drive? Thats what you computer requires. Good luck in your search. Ralph

I am looking for a SATA drive, but a 1tb.
OK These people have a 1TB SATA drive for a laptop. Ralph
But will they fit my mac with no problems?
I would think so the way they are advertised. Sales people there are very knowledgeable and they include a toll free number so you can call with your particulars for their advice. They stand behind their products and are a company I for one use frequently for Mac parts. Ralph

No, the 12.5mm will not fit unless you take out all of the mounting hardware and jam the harddrive in (not recommended) So far, the only Apple that takes the 12.5mm drives are the older 17" MacBook Pro Aluminums (not Unibody). This applies to the 750Gb and 1Tb drives now available.

I have just installed a 1TB Toshiba 12.5mm drive in my new MacBook Pro 13".
It fits perfectly, the MBP is clearly designed to accomodate a 12.5mm drive.

I've seen conflicting reports about the unibody MBPs... for those successful at using a 12.5 mm drive, do you have the old core 2 duo or the new i5/i7 line?
