I replaced the screen on my ipad 2GSM that was cracked with a new display that i got off of amazon. no matter what i do the touchscreen and home button will not work. I was wondering if there is anything i can try to get it working again? thanks, James

try to see if the old screen still works.
are the connectors pushed down?
sometimes the home button doesnt work on the new screen, make sure you transfer the original one.

The touch screen and home button would be two separate issues. For the home button you have to make sure the piece that is glued on to the glass lines up with the connection points coming off of the dock cable, otherwise it will not work. For the touch screen, make sure the digitizer cables are pushed in all the way. It's tough because they are so thin so you can't put too much pressure on them. Try to use a plastic spudger and gently push, alternating sides till they are in all the way.
