Right speaker cable connector socket dislodged from board

As the title states, the right speaker cable connector socket dislodged from logic board. I was trying to replace my LCD and on Step 19 of the guide, unfortunately the connector wasn't cooperating. The socket ended up coming off the board. I can still connect the cable to socket.

*spudger is pointing at where socket once was*

Is there anything I can do? Superglue? Anything?!

FWIW. I'm a novice at this stuff. Just a college kid trying to replace my screen.

And so far I have gotten to replacing it and have begun retracing the steps. I am just waiting now for a solution to my problem to proceed

Thanks for the help machead3 & mayer.

Literally feels like I have a new laptop since I dont have to deal with a cracked screen.

Decided to live with it since its not that important to me in the scope of things.

Live with it. All your friend will probably do is fry your board. The connectors come off these boards very easily ( I pulled one yesterday and I'm very careful.) Even with over 30 years of experience, I will not attempt soldering on these boards, they're just to delicate. Luckily it's something you can live without, of course your external audio port may be fine.

As a DIY work around you could get a USB dongle to handle audio (USB audio is separate from analog audio).''

I would not suggest a DIY attempt to solder/reconnect the connector (it's very advanced DIY - requires special tools, solder and lots & lots of practice)

A local electronics/computer repair shop may be able/willing to tackle that for you, or, on e-bay you might be able to send off for the repair. Of course the other more expensive route is to replace the entire logic board...

My friend knows how to solder. Will it be a capable task for him? And thanks for the tags. Ill read them when I can get on a computer
