I have now the same problem I changethe power supply, connected all the cable on turn on I hear the tipical Mac sound, backlight of display are on but nothing happens display stay dark and nothing else-.
There some suggestion I will try again all the connection, Luigi

This can happen if your hard drive fails. First try starting up from youe system installation disk. Insert the disk and restart while holding down the "C" key till the Apple logo appears. If this fails disconnect the hard drive and try it again. Also check here to see if your machine is a recalled ones if it has a 1 TB hard drive: http://www.apple.com/support/imac-harddr...

Of course you've re checked all the connections (may times connectors that "look" good were not completely and squarely connected). And you've attached to an external display so that you're certain the VGU (VGC) is working Help us help you by telling us which diagnostic LEDs are on/off.
