Is PC2-6400 compatible with EMC2133 iMac?

I wanna upgrade my iMac EMC2133 original configuration and add some RAM. I found some ram stick of DDR2 PC2-6400, and those are usually backwards compatible in most mainboards, but i don´t know if this is the case. I know that it uses 667 ram, but it will work with 800Mhz ram?

Won't work you have the wrong machine for that type RAM. You'd need a 2210 iMac8,1 for the RAM you found.

It does work. I found confirmation of this on a different site and have just installed some. Works perfectly.

it's true , it works flawlessly! I succesfully upgraded my a1224 and it's now running 2gb of 667mhz together with another 2g of 800mhz pc2-6400 and they seem to coexist with no hassle at all!

Also, this site works EXTREMELY well for specs on all Macs and iDevices.

You can look up each Mac, down to serial number and then open a large list of specs.

For your iMac EMC2133

Scroll down a bit and you will find this info:

RAM Type: PC2-5300 DDR2 Min. RAM Speed: 667 MHz

Details: Supports 667 MHz PC2-5300 DDR2 SDRAM (200-pin SO-DIMM).

Standard RAM: 1 GB Maximum RAM: 6 GB*

*Apple officially supports 4 GB of RAM, but third-parties have been able to upgrade the system to 6 GB of RAM using one 2 GB and one 4 GB memory module.
