Why do I still have video glitches
Just wanting to get some possible answers of why i am still getting video glitches on my iMac 17"?
I recently had it professionally reballed for the GPU and after getting it back, i get video, but with lacking drivers. I put the regular drivers ("kexts") back and repair all permissions, i still get the horizontal black lines when it tries to get to the login window. This happens with the main machine and using an external monitor hooked up via mini DVI. Could it be a bad reball, or is there something else i am not seeing?

You talk about lacking drivers, what OS are you using also did you alter the GPU to something else (PCI Express)?

I took out a few kexts in order to have somewhat of a working iMac. I put those kexts into a different folder called *Extensions Disabled* and rebooted the mac. So I have video but no 3D acceleration.
As for altering the GPU, no, it's still a PCI-e soldered onboard ATI x1600.
And the OS is 10.7.5
More info can be found ''here''. This explains all that i had done before. And nothing has really changed.
