Suds Error and now washer will not drain

White crusty deposits found on the inner rim of the tub. Bearing appeared good - no noise or excessive play. Stainless steel basket opening found not to be perfectly round so was rubbing on the tub.

Removed tub, cleaned deposits and restored to operation.

First test wash cycle generated the suds error and stopped the cycle even though the correct HE detergent was used and no suds were present.

Now machine is full of water and will not drain.

Not sure where to go from here?

discovered how to run the self diagnostic routine...

C01 - Door lock - OK/ C02 - Cold water inlet- OK / C03 - Hot water inlet - OK/ C04 - Basket rotatation clockwise - OK/

C05 - Basket Rotation clockwise with water heater - OK/ C06 - Drain pump On / spin - NOK - nothing happens/

C07 - Higher speed spin speeds - NOK - nothing happens/ C08 - 1100 RPM spin speed - NOK - nothing happens

из

To run the Diagnostic cycle the command sequence was...1)Press Drain Spin 2) Press No Spin 3) Press Prewash 5 times in a row quickly until the display shows 000 Now the washer will begin the self-test mode and will display C01 through C08 for the seven checks or tests. At the end it will display fault codes if problems are found.

Bob, according to the service manual there are a few possibilities

Sud - SUDS LOCK (Overdose of Detergent detected during the Wash Cycle)

The motor control unit senses a suds lock condition by analyzing the current draw on the drive motor. If “Sud” is displayed a potential suds lock is detected. This may signify a bad pump, an extra heavy load, excessive detergent, or excessive suds.

• If too much detergent was used, run the unit through a Rinse/ Spin cycle then a Normal cycle without adding any detergent. This should clear the unit of the excess detergent.

• Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked

• Check Wire Harness connections to the Drain Pump, Pressure Switch, and Central Control Unit (CCU)

• Check/ Clean Drain Pump Filter of foreign objects

• Check Drain Pump

• Check the Pressure Switch

• Check CCU

So check on that for the Suds error. For the not draining, it might be a clogged pump or hose. It is entirely possible that small objects to get into the water drain system and clog the hose or the pump. Remove the hose from the pump and the drain plug from the filter at the water pump and clean it out.

1. Take off the lower front panel.Remove the bottom front access panel just remove the 3 Torx screws on front bottom of machine. Slightly lift the panel and pull the bottom towards you

2. Turn the pump filter cover counter-clockwise by hand and remove. Place a bucket or pan underneath it since you will get the water spilling out of there. Removing the filter should remove all water from your washer.

If the washer still won't drain water the drain pump might be defective. Get the service manual from here to review your diagnostics codes and for a possible replacement of the drain pump if required. Hope this helps, good luck.

Used a Shop Vac to literally suck the water from the washer through the existing drain pipe - worked great.

Old Turkey 03, many thanks for your expert input and a copy of the manual. The drain hoses and all the filters were clean. The drain pump electrical connections were all good. So the pump was the last item in the list to swap out.

By now the washing piles had backed up and I had to get a replacement washer. The HE3 is no more

Thanks

BoB
