Why do I have no power after charging port was resoldered?

When I went to replace the touchscreen on my 3ds I noticed that there were a couple of broken solder connections on the charging port, only 3 of the 6 connection were intact. It had been working fine up to that point as far as charging and turning on with the occasional giggling if the charging cord to get it to come on. After I resoldered the broken/ loose connections it first would show it was charging but wouldn't actually charge the battery, now it power on even with a new fully charged battery. Is it possible I have a fuse issue or did I cause a short somewhere? It doesn't appear any of the points are touching and I did not use any additional solder just what was already there
