Won't boot, magsafe dimly lit green

I purchased my MacBook Pro 13" in mid 2009, or about this time last year. It was working fine until last week after I shutted the machine down that was fully charged. A few days later, I was unable to turn the machine on and the battery was completely discharge. Plugged the power adapter in, it does not lit up orange but very dimly green.

What I have read so far indicate a logic board problem when this happened.

My question is, can a logic board be repair instead of replacement due to the cost?

The reason I ask this question is, my machine is still under warranty and being repair by Apple. Plus, I could still get the warranty extended for 2 years at $250. It is obvious that at some point, I will not be able to extend the warranty, is this a frequent problem, and if this problem happen again, could the logic board be repair?

I had tos on a MacBook too - on mine was an IC shot - i would highly recommend that you go to apple and let them fix it

Apple just call, my MacBook Pro is ready for pickup, it was the logic board that was bad and they replaced it.

Again, my question is, how often does these logic board fail on the mid 2009 model?
