Anybody heard of any possiblities for a second ssd?

I remember seeing a post here about the potential of a second "drive" in the new 13" MacBooks, due to the open space in the box. Anybody heard rumors of this happening?

Are you really thinking about this model MacBook Pro 13" Retina Display Late 2012? As IFIXIT discovered the space Apple had available for the SSD is quite large (unlike the Air's & newer Pro's). Sadly, its not enough to add a second unit only able to house a larger unit than what Apple used. Many had thought Apple had first planed for a 2.5" Thin series HD then decided to go with the 2.5" SSD instead.

As for the MacBook Pro 13" Retina Display Late 2013 model your options are limited as Apple reconfigured things internally and upgraded the SSD to the M.2 PCIe SSD module. While some third parties have announced plans to offer options none have offered any for sale yet. In any case there is no room internally for a second unit.

Yes, this is a nice way to gain some storage (64GB or 128GB), but you do give up your SD card slot and technically it's not internal.
