Shutdown automatically and red light blink

I've got PS3 Fat 80GB in 2010 or 2011 old version. I didn't use it much. It suddenly shutdown when I play "Midnight club Los Angles". Only in when loading. It happens few times when I start game immediately. I noticed that It when I spend few seconds in game menu and start game, it doesn't shutdown. And few months later, it happens alot. Now I've got NFS Run and I can't run it. GTA4 and COD BO2. Non of these can be played. IT always shutdown. I've tried so much to pass it by spending some times. But now it restart at first 10 or 30 seconds in PS3 normal menu.

It beep ones, yellow light, double beep with red light and blink it. When I start it again, ask me to recover and all going fine. And repeat.

I'm from Sri Lanka and little bit hard to contact Sony for repair. Hope this may help me.

Hi,

You have a problem with overheating. Open and clean the system and change the thermal paste. And be sure the place of the game console is good for ventilation.

If this not help you, you can try YLOD fix kit.

Thank you for your reply. It has more space. I don't know much about it to clean. How can I do it? Open it and clean by small brush or something or should I have to use any chemical?

And it don't work so much time to get heat. It work only take about 5 or 10 seconds from start. Anyway I'll watch that video. Thank you.

Yes, it's good to find and watch video how to do this. I'm not sure where exactly is the problem. But this is first and more easy step, clean the system inside, change the thermal paste and check the fan system. The thermo sensor is under the CPU. If the thermal paste is too old or you fan is not working this is a reason for the system to shut down for prevent overheating.

I bought it from Singapore in 2010. I hear fans are working properly. I'll do it and replay. :)

Hope you guys will see this again. I tried it. It doesn't work. As I FIX IT said, I've bought new thermal paste and done everything. Still have that issue. I have no idea what to do now.
