My floors are concrete. My phone (Samsung galaxy mega)slipped off of my counter and landed face first, completely shattering the top right side of the screen. It turns on and off and the screen is normal looking, but the touch doesn't work anymore. I can't unlock it or anything. Can I get it fixed or is it just cheaper and easier to replace it?

It seems as though the digitizer in your phone is faulty (as you probably know) and needs to be replaced.
Here is one source for replacement parts for your phone. (Select the part suitable for your particular model number). It is not a recommendation to buy from the seller it is only to show what is available and what the cost is.

Here is a link which shows how to replace the digitizer in your phone. It is in German but the video is self explanatory. It may be easier, (and less stressful and perhaps in the end cheaper), if you are going to do it yourself and do not have all the required tools necessary, to replace both the LCD screen and the digitizer. Then you do not have to separate them, just to replace the digitizer.

Check with local shops, you need a new Digitizer. The part is a lil pricey as it consists of the LCD, Digitizer and Glass. You will probably spend anywhere from 150-200 at a shop to get it fixed.

I have the the same problem, is the LCD, DIGITIZER and glass the same thing
They are all different parts to the screen.
LCD is what lights up to make the picture
Digitizer is thin sheet of glass with some circuitry around it that handles the touch screen functionality.
The Glass is literally just an additional plan of glass the protects the other 2 parts on the outside. This is the part that usually breaks first. Some glass can be removed and replaced without the need of replacing all 3. While the Samsung models "can" replace the glass only it is a tricky process as the glass is glued to the digitizer and separating them can cause damage to your touchscreen.
I sat on my samsung mega and cracked the screen. The screen still works, an the menu bottom, an the back an home button still works. The top half is responding to touch but not the bottom half. What to do to fix it?

Remove the the back cover and bezel. Then you'll see the motherboard there and you want to remove that as well. Don't worry about removing the bottom charging port or any other components. Underneath where the motherboard was you will see the digitizer flex connection (not the lcd flex cable). You may try sliding it out of the connector and placing it back in. Assemble everything back together and your samsung galaxy should work.

My son smashed my samsung galaxy mega and broke the glass screen. I had the glass screen only replaced. It works better now. Even tough the touchscreen is not as responsive as before but i can still use my phone which is great. So yes, you can replace the glass screen only.
