My grandson spilled lemonade on his 2ds and now there's a stain on the touch screen and it doesn't respond. The screen displays fine. Any thing I can do to clean it? Also, how do I open it.

I had the exact same problem with my 3ds if fixed it by:
1. Taking off my screen protector.
2. Wiping the screen with a lint free cloth.
3. Gently brushing the edges of the screen with a toothbrush.
4. Using a hard, plastic card on the edges of the screen.
5. Booting into calibration mode (pressing L+R+X while turning on).

Uncover and remove the battery immediately. You can do this by removing the top two screws on the rear of the console
Remove the additional 10 screws to obtain access to the motherboard. Be cautious when removing the rear panel, there is a ribbon cable from camera attached to the motherboard. Unlatch the cable at the motherboard.
check for liquid damage inside the assembly. The ribbon cables for the digitizer screen are the bottom left and middle (when viewing from rear). check the connection.
Do not keep the system turned on or battery installed while there is liquid in the console. Remove using rubbing alcohol and pray it doesn't lead to corrosion. You may need to go deeper in the dis-assembly of the unit. Liquid may be sitting between the motherboard and LCD. I would check youtube for dis-assembly instructions.

To treat corrosion damage follow the following steps:
1- please stop turning on / plugin in a device with a mysterious liquid in it and take out the battery.
2- take the device apart, and uninstall all it components which are detachable without soldering
3- make a warm tray of isopropyl alcohol 70c and use a soft scrub tooth brush to scuba the components of the board, and all of the connectors that attach to the board from all modular parts
4- let the scrubbed parts stand at room temperature for 2-3 days so the evaporation of the alcohol can remove all the little bits of dirt
5- reassemble the device and give it a go
Unfortunately the device was probably permanently damaged before you received it from you friend. Liquid damage causes little shorts all through the device that damage components on a very small scale, resulting in non-repairability.

My nintendo got anti lice liquid spilled on it two years ago, and all the buttons started to work worse, untill I turned it off.
After turning it on, all the buttons on the left side stoped working completly, the ones on top and also the touch screen ( more like screen).
Now when I turn it on they work sligtly and the substance has evaporated a lot. I hope it works again.
