Digitizer and LCD touching

Had to replacement both glass and LCD.

After installing both parts, with enough pressure, the digitizer will touch the LCD.

Should I add another layer of adhesive tape around the edge for more clearance?

Thanks,

Hi Steve,

I would take the iPad back apart and inspect. It doesn't sound like your LCD is seated properly in the housing. I would remove the glass and LCD and make sure nothing like adhesive or glass is down there and is causing your LCD to not seat properly

If you are sure that the LCD is seated properly, I would check the iPads frame for bending. If the frame of the iPad is bent its possible its causing the issue, It will need to be replaced.

The frames can bend if it sustained a hard enough drop.

Also ensure the battery is completely seated. If the battery is not seated 100% it can push the LCD out and cause it to touch the glass.

Hope some of this helps!

Nope. Take it apart, find the shard of glass that is lifting your LCD, remove and seal.
