Backlight not working on retina display

I'm working on a macbook pro 13" retina display, I replaced the backlight fuse and still nothing. Model is A1425, Where is the WLED Driver located on that model?

I am confused. You say it is a A1425 but choose a A1502 as your model. The 1425 is a late 2012 to early 2013, whereas the A1502 is a Late 2013. which model do you really have:-)

I changed your chosen device to a A1425. If this is incorrect, post your computers serial number with your question so we can properly identify which computer you have.

Michael, the backlight driver on this model is reference designator U9701. Looks like another TI IC LP8545SQX-EXTJ. Check the image for the location. Hope this helps, good luck.

I can likely contact Texas Instruments for this part? Do I need to tell them the entire part number including the EXTJ?

It is unlikely that TI will sell you the part. They are the manufacturer and I am not even sure if they do retail sales. You would have to check places like Mouser.com, Digikey.com, or Farnell.com as well as many others. I'd suggest that you try and get a datasheet and see if the driver works as it should. It is not a good idea to just replace parts without further troubleshooting

Where's backlight fuse location?

the backlight driver never dies on this. on a1425 the fuse can die, on a1502 the fuse does not. check pin 1 of lcd connector to see what it looks like, check for short to ground. the "fuse" in a1502 retina models IS pin 1 of the LCD connector. and check, if there ***IS**** a short to ground on pin 1 of LCD connector, if it goes away when you unplug the LCD.

Where is the backlight fuse location on a A1425 MacBook Pro Retina, 13-inch Early 2013? Can someone please provide a detailed picture pointing it out for me?

Thanks in advance!

I'm having the same issue on the Macbook A1502. I have checked the connectors under a microscope and everything looks fine?

Can you please elaborate on what steps you would take next if the first pin is fine?

PS. I also checked the last pin and it looks fine too!! ; )
