Volume indicator indicates bacwards

Volume indicator starts at 60 (no volume) and counts backwards to 1 (full volume) What do I do to fix the problem? Or is there some good reason as to why the volume is indicated this way?

From the units I've seen, home receivers are just set up that way. I'm sure someone will have a better answer after me. If you look carefully, it will probably be a negative 60, rather than positive. That's the experience I've had, anyway.

Basically, each decibal is a ten-fold increase in sound. If no sound was labeled as zero, ten times that would still be zero. So the loudest volume is used as a reference instead.

Try reversing the lead in wires.
