Close-up Picture of Motherboard laptop connector area.

Hello. I am working on a DIY project. Could someone include a close-up picture of the laptop connector area on the main board. I'm interested in the chips and connectors. Thanks for the help!

Can you give us the last four digits of your serial number of your system so we can correctly identify it.

Tim, I suspect you selected the wrong system here as this system (2015) is just coming to the market place. Other than the IFIXIT teardown you need to wait until someone has a system. You do realize the parts in this systems are not likely compatible with older MacBook Pro's if you thought you could swap the display assembly around. Besides it would be more expensive!

Sorry, I should have been more clear. I am not working on repairing a particular MacBookPro Model, I am re-purposing a MacBookPro Keyboard for a DIY Project, and I was interested in what chips are used to interface.

Thank you!

Generically across the older MacBook Pro systems: Per the schematics the upper case interface to the logic board is an internal USB which connects to the built-in USB hub of the system (platform controller chip). You will still need to deal with the OS driver for the given OS.

Per the schematics, eh? I have not been able to find any thing that useful. In truth I am trying to build my own laptop (I know, I know cant be done and whatever). I have the pinout of the 15" rMBP keyboard figured out, but I am interested in the small semiconductors surrounding the keyboard connectors.

I am also working on the track pad. I unfortunately have not made too much progress so I anyone has any tidbits of information I am all ears.

Thanks for the help.

(OK I thought I should clarify, I am not designing the motherboard for this laptop, I am using the ASUS Q87T)
