@Bruno - You do need to check your systems firmware before you upgrade the RAM. Follow this Apple T/N: EFI and SMC firmware updates for Intel-based Macs. Make sure you have the latest.

in addition, will it be compatible too., will the system accept it and will not hung or corrupt.
Just needed to be sure because I'm planning to buy the 2 8GB RAM and install/fix it by myself. Thanks.
It will accept it but apple does not support it. Basicly yes it will work but if you want assistance from apple you wont get it because you have too much RAM installed. Dont ask me why.
Also are you sure you dont need a ssd instead of more ram?

@hari - Apple will service a system with other configurations of RAM or storage (HD or SSD). So he'll be OK here if he adds more RAM.
