Extremely Dark Screen on HTC One m8

I bought a screen replacement for htc one m8 and received it

yesterday. I also bought a new rear housing. I disassembled the

phone with no problem. After that I tried to reassemble the phone.

When I did that the phone was perfectly fine the touch screen was

fully functioning. However, the selfie camera was green and the front facing camera was black so i disassembled the phone reconnected the cameras. (Turns out that I didn't take off the film that was covering the camera). After reassemble The screen turned on and then went completely dark. It's on but, you can't see anything with out bright light. Touch function also work. Disassembled again and reassemble thinking that maybe one of my cables was loose. The screen of the phone is still dark. How do I fix this problem?

Reconnected it to my old screen and it was still dark. Therefore, I don't think it is option 1. I might still need to buy new lcd just in case. I don't really feel that comfortable doing option 2. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Also I held it under a bright light for a little bit and the screen started to work again but, once it went into sleep mode it stopped.
