it the black clutch cover located on the bottom of the LCD panel. The bluetooth and the airport are connected together in that order from left to right. Check out replacing LCD panel. You don't have to remove the glass to get access to airport.

Good luck with that.

I'm going to attempt replacing the airport card in my MacBook Pro 13in Unibody this week. Is there a particular way to disconnect / detach the bluetooth and airport antennae?

I'm hoping they can be disconnected as easily as the numerous cable connections to the logic board!

Hopefully they don't need to be soldered on or anything like that.

Any pointers or advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks.

Tony, thank you for your advice, much appreciated.

Just so I'm 100% - can you clarify what you mean by the two "U patterns" on the cable need to "face away" from me? As you're looking at the screen in the upright position, like it sits on the laptop when it's open and in use, are you referring to the cable that comes out of the airport card and comes around the bottom left of the screen corner, around the speaker and CD drive and connects to the logic board by the fan?

I replaced the antenna card today and I've worked out what the problem is. The antenna connector port on the right has actually come off from the airport's card. You can see the one of the left still has the port part of the connection attached the airport card, soldered on. The right connection has actually come away from the airport card and is still attached the antenna's connector.

So... I have a new airport card coming in the post and I'll do the repair this weekend, snow permitting its delivery!

Is the take apart guide for it. The antenna connectors just push down onto the card. Just gently lift them up with a spudger tool or flat blade screwdriver. Make sure when you replace the card, the airport cable is seated correctly. The two U patterns on the cable must be facing away from you. It will short out the logic board if it is not installed correctly.

It is the cable inside the clutch cover that plugs into the airport card itself. On one side of the cable you can see two U shaped patterns in the metal. You just have to make sure you have the cable oriented correctly. Some reason they made the cable so it will fit it either way. The U Shaped patterns on the cable should not be visible when you plug the cable into the airport card, should be facing the opposite way. If it is in the wrong way it will short out the logic board and you would have to replaced both the airport card and the logic board.
