Can I use narrow display cable for iBook that came with wide?

I have an iBook G4 (mid 2005) that has a wide display cable connector. I purchased the narrow connector LCD not realizing that there was a difference. From my findings it's a lot more expensive to buy a wide connector LCD. Ifixit doesn't have them for sale.

So my question is. Is it possible to purchase this narrow cable and remove the wide cable from the logic board and replace with the narrow? If so, will everything work as it should? I know there is an abundance of steps to get to the logic board, but I'm not worried about that.

I'm the original owner of the laptop so no work has ever been done to it.
