Retina MBP do not power up after sleeping for few days

I left my macbook retina for a couple of days in sleep mode because i had to leave town in emergency.

After I am back, I tried turning it on, but it didn't respond.

I tried the 10 second method i.e. take out the power cord, press the power button for 10 seconds while the power cord is out, and then plug in the cord.

viola .. it turns on but doesn't show any battery (an X sign on the battery in the status bar).

Reset the SMC, doesn't turn on. Repeat the 10 second procedure, now it shows the battery at 0%.

However when i power off the computer, it doesn't turn on normally.

Should I leave it for an overnight charging?

your 10 second method that's the debug with the battery out right?

if is your always going to get an X on the battery does it charge on its own off? You need to try taking the battery connector loose wait 10 seconds plug the battery in then the plug the magsafe 10 seconds after that then hit the button

hmmm ... i think i do not have the proper tools for that.

and no, battery was in when i did my 10 seconds method .. your solution seems like, i would have to open the backlid .. right ?

sorry I guess I misunderstood that is not a solution is merely a way to diagnose the problem but system reseting is done by disconnecting and reconnect the battery hold the power button etc. Yeah you'll need pentalobe screwdriver to open for retinas so your saying you only get it to turn on by pram reset and it does'nt charge right?

no, SMC does not help in powering on. Only taking the chord out, pressing the power for 10 seconds and re applying the chord helps. SMC reset doesn't help. pentalobe screw driver .. i think i have it.

okay, the answer seems to be the 85W adapter. You need to have at least some charge to simultanously use and charge your macbook with a 60W adapter

//thanks
