Broke my front glass so I had it replaced with new digitizer.
Now after the replacement few parts of the touch screen are not responsive while others are fine.
What could this be? Even when the old glass was cracked, everything was still working smoothly.

It is most likely a defective part. Double check the connectors and make sure everything is tight. If any areas of the cable aren't making contact fully this can happen. If the connections are good then the part needs to be warrantied.

There are really only a couple things this could be: A bad digitizer or the connections not being made. Clean off the digitizer connection cable and clean the connectors with 99% or 91% IPA. Make sure to check the connectors really well for damage. There is something about the iPad 3's connectors that like to break.
As always: use plastic tools and take your time. If you don't see any damage and the screen is still flaky, you know its a bad screen.
