Can't remove all the broken pieces before glue re-sticks the pieces

I cannot remove the little pieces of broken screen before the glue resets. What can I do to keep the glue soft long enough to get the pieces off?

Hi

I suggest that you use a liquid adhesive remover rather than just heat. Be carefull if you havent remove your lcd. You dont want to spill this on your iPad lcd.

There is many different kind of adhesive remover. I recommend that you use wipe or something similar rather than spraying/dropping the solution directly on your iPad frame.

Here is what you could use: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0019GG2K6...

This is not what I personnaly use but it should do the same.

Heat and time....heat and time.

When I'm working on an iPad that has shards I heat up 2 or 3 inches at a time then remove those shards. Continue doing that as you work your way around the frame. Rushing always ends badly with iPads.

Once you have all the shards off, you will still have some leftover adhesive and small bits you need to get rid of. I use Goo Gone Pro but use whatever you have access to. Apply the remover, let it sit for a good 5 minutes, then go at it. Afterwards give the edge a good cleaning with alcohol to get all the remover off. You don't want any of that stuff left behind when you try to stick the new screen down.
