The rubbery piece that holds onto the cloth extender that attaches to the zipper for the laptop compartment came off this morning, and short of attempting applying heat, there doesn't seem to be an easy way of re-attaching this little rubber piece.

Hey Justin,
Because those sheathes are attached with great heat in ovens, it's not possible to reattach them.
We do make a Day Pack puller that would replace them:
