iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus water resistance better than last year's iPhone, but can not be truly waterproof. it isn't waterproof in the 4 feet depth water.http://www.hcqs.cc/

Chosen Solution

There are some improved splash/shower protections, however the device is not rated waterproof so water can still leak in, especially when submerged.

All waterproof phones with a high parameters are 3 time thicker than iphone 6s :) Btw. theres no phone what is fully waterproof, their are only a lil bit more resistant on water than for example iphone.

No, and apple will probably never make an iPhone waterproof.

Apple made the iPhone 6s nearly waterproof and didn't tell anyone. Apple packed in a new gasket around the sides of the phone, and it incased every cable connector on the phone's logic board with a waterproofing material. Given that the logic board that includes most of the iPhone's sensitive electronics and is the most prone to water damage, Apple's solution is particularly clever.

I don't think so it's just added water resistance. I've had an iPhone 6s dropped into toilet water by accident and taken it out quickly then tried out. Looked like no liquid actually went in the phone so yeah there is some water resistance to stop liquid from coming in but no way it is nearly waterproof.

I dropped mine in a 6 inch deep creek and it worked fine but the sound will not work

So far I have found that the iPhone 6s is partly water proof you can take it into the shower and get it partly wet but I wouldnt recommend taking it all the way into the pool or dipping it into a sink or bucket full of any liquid

I accidentally dropped my 6s+ in a bowl of water in the kitchen. I pulled it out within seconds. That was 3 days ago. No problems and extremely thrilled.

It's water resistant and has an adhesive around the screen to protect it.

The iPhone 6S is not spec'd as being water resistant. Apple experimented with the adhesive and as such, it is much better at keeping water out than the iPhone 6 but it's important not to spread mis-information.

by

Ah, I heard it the adhesive makes it water resistant. Probably should've looked into it a bit more.

by

No worries, it's a common misconception. The adhesive is just one part of the solution that Apple implemented in the 6S and above. There are also gaskets around the connectors and additional sealing around all of the points of entry. It was only with the iPhone 7 that Apple officially recognized it as being IP67 water and dust resistant.

The iPhone 7 is splash, water, and dust resistant and was tested under controlled laboratory conditions with a rating of IP67 under IEC standard 60529 is water-resistant. Splash, water, and dust resistance are not permanent conditions and resistance might decrease as a result of normal wear. Liquid damage not covered under warranty - per Apple

by

What does IP67 mean?

* Dust tight - No ingress of dust; complete protection against contact (dust tight). A vacuum must be applied. Test duration of up to 8 hours based on air flow.

* Immersion (up to 1 m depth) - Ingress of water in harmful quantity shall not be possible when the enclosure is immersed in water under defined conditions of pressure and time. Test duration: 30 minutes. Tested with the lowest point of the enclosure 1000 mm below the surface of the water, or the highest point 150 mm below the surface, whichever is deeper.
