My machine freezes up after a few minutes of use. Vertical and horizontal dashes and lines start to appear, and the machine locks up. The mouse and keyboard become inoperable. I have power it down and let it sit for an hour or more. However, it freezes up again after a few minutes.

+ right. I had a G5 this weekend where a dead capacitor caused the HDD not beeing recognised anymore. Weird but a replace fixed the problem.
