locked out need to reset
I bought this tablet from a friend and I don't know the password is there any way to reset this device

I have supplied a link to Arnovatech's support page. If you scroll down to the bottom of the page to the troubleshooting section it has directions to boot the tablet into recovery mode to perform a factory reset.

I've checked their site and it doesn't list this particular item doesn't recognize the model number etc.. so I was hoping someone else might have a solution.

My apologies for an unhelpful answer. I was to quick to post an answer without researching. It is hard to find this information online as many posts are unclear or contradictory for this model but I may be able to help you figure out how to enter the recovery menu to do a factory reset. I do not own this tablet so I have a few questions. What physical buttons(power, volume up, vol down, home, etc.) does the tablet have on it? Does the tablet have a small whole anywhere(usually on the back or side) that is labeled reset? Let me know and we may be able to figure this out.
well Burnie G this model has the reset hole the power on/ off button and the usb/ charging ports ... as for the basic reset instructions they list on the site jimfixer it doesn't apply in this case because you can't access the volume buttons due to the locked screen as this device has no external volume buttons

Make sure the tablet is powered off. Next take a straitened paper clip and insert it into the reset hole. While holding the reset button with the paper clip proceed by pressing and the power button as well. You may need to hold the reset button and power button down until you see the tablet boot to recovery mode. Let me know if this works for you.
