Top screen has patchy red discoloration that moves?

The top screen on my DS Lite has developed an issue where usually the top part of the screen (or sometimes all of the screen) will develop a red tinge and turn all the colors on the screen more red. I don't think the screen is necessarily damaged because if I tilt the screen forwards or backwards it can either get better or worse (more of the screen turns red or less, sometimes even none if I tilt it just right). Is it some kind of connection in the hinge or something along those lines?
