Mac air no display but work with external monitor

Hi there. I have a Mac air 2013 mid A1466. Recently, it went no display on screen. I try to connect with a external monitor, it all works fine. There is no physical damage on screen, so I guess the connection or internal parts went wrong. Anyone knows which part may go wrong?

Best Regards.

Just come back and update my solution.

Thanks to Mayer, I got the Lvds Led display cable from HK on ebay. After I replace it, the display of my Air back to normal. I guess the frequent closing and opening laptop lid may result in the cable not working.

So, next time when you find the screen is no display but with no physical damage. Please try to replace the cable. It may work.

The primary suspect would be the Lvds Led display cable & Cable Connector. Apple does not sell this a separate part as they want to replace the whole display assembly. o you have to get a pulled part and hope that it works. Like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/11148137110...

Before ordering make sure it is one out of your exact machine as there can be subtile differences.

Thanks Mayer. I have read a lot about your comments in the forum and I remember that in some where you have mentioned about display cable, but just cannot find in ifixit.com. Thanks about the prompt and comprehensive reply. I will go for a try.

Kind regards,

So far. I have not seen iFixit selling these pulled cables (Hint @kyle ) so I have to buy them from another supplier. PowerBook Medic and I did buy three different ones just this week. I even bought a whole display unit from them but have to send it back because they pulled the airport card, the iSight cable was bad and so was the LDVS cable and I had to pay my tech for two and half hours of wasted time. My customer is not happy nor am I, my money is tied up. nd I have no idea of when I can tell my customer her machine will be ready. I won't get a good review and all because of my suppliers. Get the hint Kyle? I'd be very happy to pay more for parts I know are good, will be here on time and that have been tested. I also had to go to strangers for 7 MacBook Pro 13", 15" & 17" glass replacement screens today for stock. grip, grip grip but there are a lot of other professional that feel the same.

We’ve never parted out those displays to get those cables, but we will certainly consider sourcing them separately.

@kyle - the demand may certainly be there. I'd really like to just stay Home and know I can go to you for all my pats ;-) PS parts for Retina displays too!

You can resolve many display issues by updating the software on your Apple devices, cables, and adapters. If you can see an image on your screen, check for software updates using the Mac App Store:

1. Connect your external display and any Apple video cables or adapters that you use with it.

2. From the Apple menu, choose App Store.

3. Click the Updates button in the App Store window.

4. Install any OS X or firmware updates that are listed.

If you're using a display, hub, extender, or adapter not made by Apple, check with the manufacturer for any updates that might be available.
