Rebuild after water damage

Hello all

I had given up on fixing my i phone 5 64gb until i stumbled across lots of advice online.

So my original phone, i phone 5 64gb suffered water damage, it was put in alcohol (99%) and washed 3 times

I left it for about 2 weeks to ensure it dried correctly

In the mean time i purchased an i phone 5 16gb fully working and tested for under £60, just with a cracked screen with 4 lines in it and an aftermarket 5s style home Botton.

All was successful and it worked, i was so happy, backed up the device, then i checked out the camera and it had specs of water in it, so replaced it with the one from the 16gb motherboard.

Then after re assembling it, it would not boot up. It currently boots and holds the apple logo on start up. But does not go further. I have tried the 16gb motherboard and get the same result

So im guessing it's missing a cable somewhere or needs all screws attached to work or something or even in need of rebooting. Tried it but didn't work. However maybe the home button is not working anymore. ? that could be why

Ive got a feeling it will need a full reboot but unsure. Does the home botton only work if the screen is fixed in the chassis.

I look forward to the replies, hopefully it is fixable and just a simple issue

And will post the finished product when it's got a new screen with the custom home Botton. and use the original chassis for the 16gb one.
