I have my Nest Cam and it's plugged in, but there is not buttons or switches, I'm not sure how to control, change settings or even view what's happening. What am I missing?

The Nest Cam is controlled entirely remote by the Nest Cam App. Ensure that you have downloaded this app.
Please refer to the troubleshooting guide for more assistance.

Like every security camera, for example, Nest and Canary, is controlled via the mobile application. So make sure to download it from either App store or Android store.
