Why can't I get a display

I recently replaced my iPad 2 digitizer and even thought with a bad digitized I still got a working screen with light so now that I replaced it I'm not getting a screen I would do a hard reset but there's no way of knowing the home button is working since it has no cords attached to it or anything I'm really stuck here please help but I know it's on cause if I plug in the charger I'll get the charging sound

I would double check your LCD connections. It sounds you have a loose connector not making good contact. But make sure you power down the device or disconnect the battery before checking your connections you don't won't to short anything out.

After you let it charge do you see any image on the screen? if not during your iPad repair the blacklight components could of burnt out just by what you're describing.

I think im having the same problem. While charging a dead battery the screen is bright and functional. However it goes completely black, no activity at all, after booting. Any ideas?
