Most will
- the length of the ribbon cable may be slightly different but should still work (as long as it's a 12"box) the 14" keyboard is larger.

Hi, I would try a 90 degree fold in the direction of the connector followed by a 90 degree fold down to the connector. This would serve the dual purpose of shortening the cable and lining it up. I would not twist the cable as that would put a strain on it. Good luck.

Tough luck, guys. As is, the G3 cable is too long going out and too short bending left. Folding the cable won't work either. Guess I'll have to look for a replacement G4 keyboard. Thanks so much. Hope this is instructive for others in a similar position.
I take that back. I kind of forced the keyboard in place, doing exactly what rj713 advised against. It's a little crude (as evidenced by the slightly raised Space Bar section above the now twisted cable), but it works. I don't necessarily recommend this route, however. Anyone following suit is duly warned. Do it only in desperation...As an aside, my daughter had actually given up on the G4 when the Apple service center (in Manila) said it needed a new mother board. We got her an MSI 14" laptop instead (pay attention, Steve Jobs). I revived a "dead" iBook following iFixIt advise and took the keyboard from a really dead G3. So for this resurrected G4, anything is better than the trash bin.
