Temp cable in 2011 iMac 27

I have a mid 2011 iMac 27 and I plan to replace my HHD and install a Evo 850 SSD into an Adaptadrive bay. I see that most people are using an OWC connector for this upgrade. My question is: Can I use a 09 or 10 temp cable and plug it into the logic board to receive the signals, or should I get the OWC connector? If I have to get the OWC connector, then where can I buy it without the rest of material in the package?
