Does the spring have to be tightened a certain number of revolutions?

When reattaching the stand to the monitor, the spring has to be turned in order to line up the opening on the end of the spring with the mount on the monitor.

Does the spring inside the stand have to be tightened a certain number of revolutions before the stand is finally screwed onto the monitor? If so, how many?

Thanks in advance for your response.

Generally, the hinge is located in the dead centre of the LCD to make angling it very easy. it almost takes a feather touch to get it to shift, as the iMac G4s were noted for.

So in my experience, when the hinge is loose, having removed the screws from one side (not both sides), it should take less than 1/4 a turn to get the tension correct. i.e. it doesn't take a full rotation. just twist it until its aligned with the screw holes the first time around and it'll be set correct.

I hope this helps.
