I need to disable internal keyboard

Yesterday, I split on MacBook Air keyboard coffee and after it was cleaned, my left shift kept on pushed.

Physically it seems ok, but it isn't. I have already tried using the programs DoubleCommand and keyremap4macbook, but the second one recalls error and the first one doesn't have option with Shift.

I can't do nothing, because if I to typing, everything is written with Shift... It really slows down performance of Mac.

I have tried also some links to Terminal what i found on Google, but nothing works...

PLEASE HELP! Thank you in advance. Mark

Update (12/16/2016)

Dan, I have Apple MacBook Air "Core i5" 1.4 13" (Early 2014)

Gigabit878 I tried everything. Right after it happened, I went to the service, everything was cleaned away. Now, everything works, but it was not able to clean up the keyboard anymore,.

We have ordered the new one already. It will arrive in 10 days, but I need to use Mac until keyboard arrives. What I need is either to turn off the both shifts or to turn off whole keyboard.

Thank you :)

If you don't mind having the trackpad disabled and use an usb mouse you should follow the answer posted by @danj below.

Otherwise if you prefer the trackpad to work it is a little harder to disconnect the keyboard connection if you follow my advice instead.

If you want to disable the internal keyboard then you will have to open up the MacBook Air.

Follow these steps starting from 1 up to Step 5 then do step 7 of this guide here

@benjamen50 - You don't need to go that far. Just pull the cable from the logic bd

The problem you face here is the connection from the keyboard to the logic board also carries with it the power switch as well. So I can show you how to disconnect the ribbon cable from the logic board but you won't be able to shut down or restart the system once you get it going by using the power pads.

You'll need to use an external keyboard & trackpad/mouse in the mean time either can be USB connected or bluetooth.

OK so here's the IFIXIT guide you'll need to follow: MacBook Air 13" Early 2014 Logic Board Replacement. Flow the first steps removing the bottom cover & power (to Step 3). Jump down to Step 23 and disconnect the trackpad ribbon cable. In this model Apple combines the keyboard signals with it. Use a small piece of tape to create a pull tab to help in removing the cable and use care when opening the clasp as it can break!

OK that does it! Reconnect the battery and then carefully put the system on it side so you can have it open and yet can still get to the bottom of the system. Now short across the square pads I've marked here this will start your system.

Here's the location of the power pads:

After you start your system you'll need to keep it plugged in and only put it into sleep mode until you replace the keyboard.
