My iPod touch 4th gen won't allow me to download and use apps until a certain update. A specific app I would like needs to be updated to 7.0 but I don't know how long it takes to receive a software update.

IOS 7? IOS seven has been reported to take up to 4 hours, depending on the occasions and internet connection.
Other Factors: Sync and Backup: aprox. 50 minutes.
Transfer Purchases: aprox. 30 minutes
IOS Updater Time: aprox. 30 minutes
I would say 4-7 hours at most.

No not at all, but it is recommended if you are looking for a faster way.
I waited a full 24 hours but it hasn't asked for an update and the wifi is great. I looked online and it says I can't. I hope it isn't because this is the only I can get. Do you have more information?
